Braun deals on Amazon UK

One Braun logo, more than one company

Procter & Gamble owns the Braun trademark, and runs the grooming and beauty side of it in-house. Everything on this page, the shavers, the trimmers, the IPL devices, is P&G's own product.

The kitchen aisle is a different company. P&G granted De'Longhi a perpetual licence to the Braun name for kitchen and household small appliances, food preparation, kettles, coffee machines and irons, announced in April 2012 and completed that August. P&G's own announcement was explicit that ownership of the brand stayed with P&G. Braun clocks and watches were separately licensed to Zeon in 2009, and the health range, including ThermoScan thermometers, went with the health division sold in 2006.

None of that makes a Braun kettle worse. It does mean the shared logo is not evidence that two Braun products came from the same place, were engineered by the same people, or are supported by the same company. It is worth a moment's thought before you read across from a review of one Braun product to another.

How to read a Braun model code, and why two 'identical' shavers cost different amounts

Braun sells near-identical shavers under different codes, and it says so itself. Its official FAQ puts the difference between model numbers down to the colour of the unit or minor differences in features, giving the shaver display, travel case and stand as its own examples.

The suffix is where the price usually hides. An s code is the shaver and a charger, nothing else. cs adds a charging stand. cc means a Clean & Charge cleaning station is in the box, which is the single biggest jump in price between otherwise identical machines. A cce code is the same as cc, packed in thick cardboard rather than an outer box, which is why the Series 9 Pro+ above reads 9677CCE.

Documented examples of how small the gap can be: the 9385cc and 9390cc differ only in colour, graphite against silver. The 9465cc and 9467cc differ in the travel case material, leather against textile. The 9465cc and 9477cc differ by a charging PowerCase. Across the Series 7 70 range, performance is the same throughout, with colour and accessories doing the differentiating.

For parts, the code that actually matters is the 4-digit Type number, printed on the shaver itself rather than the box, usually on the rear, under the pop-out trimmer or beneath the head guard. Type numbers stay consistent where model names do not: sixteen different Series 9 model codes share Type 5791 alone. Match a replacement head by Type, not by the word on the front.

One more UK-specific trap. British boxes use a hyphenated format such as 72-G7200cc, while the glowing reviews you will find online are usually written against bare four-digit US codes like 7085cc that are not sold here. They are not always the same machine, so match the UK code before trusting a review's verdict on price.

What the Series numbers actually mean

The numbers imply a clean ladder. The hardware is lumpier than that, and knowing where the real steps are stops you paying for a tier that is mostly a badge.

Independent teardowns of the range put two genuine step-changes in it: the Series 7, whose head flexes in two axes and runs a stronger motor than the tiers below, and the Series 9, with a five-plus-one element head. The gaps elsewhere are narrower than the numbering suggests, with the Series 6 amounting to a Series 5 with a flexing head and sharing its cassettes, and the Series 8 built on an older Series 5 design with a larger battery, 60 minutes against 45.

Braun's own measurable claims for the Series 9 Pro+ are worth having beside that: 5+1 synchronised shaving elements, 40,000 cutting actions a minute, a sensor reading beard density 300 times a second, and 60 minutes of runtime from a 60-minute charge with a 5-minute quick charge. It is also the tier Braun markets as made in Germany, which is a flagship claim rather than a Braun-wide one, the Series 3 is made in China.

A note on the trimmers and kits above, since they are not shavers: beard trimmers run on a separate BT numbering scheme and the all-in-one kits on AIO, so a Series 9 beard trimmer and a Series 9 shaver share a marketing tier, not a platform. On the kits, the piece count is the specification that matters, and it is what changes between codes.

What a Braun actually costs to keep running

A shaver is not a one-off purchase, and the running cost scales with the tier far faster than most buyers expect. Every figure here is from Braun's own UK store, checked 5 August 2026.

Braun recommends replacing the head every 18 months, on the basis that an average shaver cuts around 6 million hairs in that time. The head price ladder: Series 3 (21B) £19.99, Series 5 (54B) £33.99, Series 6 (64B) £37.99, Series 7 (74S) £42.99, Series 8 (83M) £47.99, Series 9 Pro+ (96M) £57.99, NEVO £79.99.

If the machine came with a Clean & Charge station, there is a second consumable. Braun rates each cleaning cartridge at about 20 cleaning cycles and suggests replacing roughly every 2 months at five cleans a week. Buying the 6+2 pack at £31.99 works out around £4 a cartridge, the best unit price it sells.

Run that out over five years on a Series 9 Pro+ at Braun's own £334.99: three head changes at £57.99 is £173.97, and six cartridges a year at £4 is £120, so about £294 of consumables against a £335 machine. Roughly 88% of the purchase price again. The same five years on a Series 3, which has no cleaning station, is three heads at £19.99, about £60.

That is not an argument against the Series 9, which is a better shaver. It is an argument for counting the whole cost before a discount on the flagship looks like the obvious call, because the gap in running cost between top and bottom of the range is close to fivefold.

Why percent off RRP means little on a Braun

Braun's recommended prices sit a long way above what Braun itself charges. Not during a sale, as a standing everyday price on its own UK store.

Checked on 5 August 2026, Braun's own shop listed the Series 9 Pro+ 9575cc at £279.99 against an RRP of £649.99, the 9675cc at £334.99 against £669.99, the Series 8 8663cc at £229.99 against £459.99, the Series 7 72-G7200cc at £149.99 against £319.99, and the new NEVO 17010C at £419.99 against £839.99. Every one of those is a 50% or larger gap, from the brand itself, on an ordinary Tuesday.

The consequence is worth being blunt about, including for the badges on this page. When a product's RRP is roughly double its normal selling price, a percentage measured against that RRP is not a measure of a saving. The percent-off figures on the deals above are Amazon's own, reported as Amazon states them, and we would rather explain what they are worth than quietly imply more.

Judge a Braun price against what the exact model code has actually been selling for, and against Braun's own current price for the same code. Amazon's price-history panel on the listing, or a tracker like Keepa, settles it in half a minute, and on Braun that check is worth more than any sticker.

Braun warranty in the UK: 2 years, or 5 if you register

The standard UK guarantee is 2 years from the date of purchase. Registering with BraunCare+ extends that to up to 5 years, which Braun describes as 3 years on top of the 2-year legal warranty. It costs nothing.

Two details decide whether you actually get it. The guarantee excludes normal wear and tear, and Braun names the shaver foil and cutter block specifically, so the consumables above are not covered. And buying from Amazon rather than Braun direct means the extra years only exist if you go and claim them.

A claim means handing in or sending the complete appliance with the sales receipt to an authorised Braun service centre, so keep the receipt with the box. None of this affects your statutory rights, which stand whatever you do or do not register.

Before you buy Braun IPL: who it does and does not work for

Two of the deals above are IPL hair removal devices, and IPL is the one category here where a discount is worthless if the device cannot work on you. Braun's own UK guidance is clear enough to check yourself in a few seconds.

On hair colour: it works on brown, dark blonde, dark brown or black hair, and is not as effective on very blonde, red or white hair, because the light needs pigment to act on. On skin tone: Braun says the Silk-expert Pro 5 suits most skin types including type 5, dark brown, and is explicitly unsuitable for skin type 6, dark brown to black.

Check your own hair colour and skin tone against Braun's guidance on the listing before buying either device. This is the sort of thing an Amazon listing does not lead with, and it decides whether the product does anything at all.
