What eufy actually is, and who owns it
eufy is a smart-home brand, not an independent company. It belongs to Anker Innovations, the same parent behind the Anker charging brand and soundcore audio, launched as Anker's smart-home line in 2016. It has no connection to Samsung, a mix-up that comes up often enough to be worth stating plainly.
Anker Innovations is headquartered in Shenzhen and listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. That matters practically for one reason: warranty and support on an eufy product route through Anker's own channels, not a UK manufacturer, which is normal for most electronics brands sold here but worth knowing going in.
The eufy privacy history, in full
This is the part every deals page selling eufy leaves out, and it is real, so here it is in order.
In November 2022, security researcher Paul Moore found that eufy cameras marketed as local-storage-only, with no cloud involvement and full end-to-end encryption, were uploading facial-recognition thumbnail images and metadata to Anker's servers even when cloud storage was switched off in the app. Separately, live camera streams could be opened in an ordinary media player by anyone who had the stream's URL, with no encryption or login required. Anker's first public response played down the findings.
That changed on 31 January 2023: Anker admitted its cameras had never actually had the end-to-end encryption it had advertised, apologised for the lack of transparency, and committed to rolling out encrypted video streaming across its camera range, which also closed the unauthorised-playback issue. A US class action followed a few months later; a federal court in Illinois partially dismissed it in January 2024, allowing some state-law privacy claims to continue.
On 28 January 2025, the New York Attorney General announced a $450,000 settlement with the entities distributing eufy in the US, following an investigation that confirmed video streams had not always been securely encrypted. The settlement requires a documented security programme, encryption of video at rest and in transit, and independent security audits every year for five years.
One more thing worth knowing, separate from all of the above: in March 2026, two US lawmakers wrote to the Commerce Department and the FCC asking for a national-security review of Anker, citing the 2025 settlement and China's 2017 law requiring companies there to cooperate with state intelligence requests if asked. That is a request for scrutiny of a China-domiciled company, not a finding against Anker specifically, and it was unresolved as of when we last checked. We're stating it because it's current and verifiable, not because we're taking a position on it.
No subscription needed, on the camera side
None of the 5 products on this page are cameras, but it's the reason people search for the eufy brand in the first place, so it's worth explaining. eufy's cameras and doorbells save footage to local on-device or HomeBase storage by default, with no ongoing fee required to use them. An optional eufy+ cloud plan exists on top for anyone who wants off-site backup.
That's the direct trade-off against Ring, whose cheapest useful tier has historically needed a subscription to store any footage at all. If avoiding a monthly fee is the priority, eufy's model wins that argument regardless of anything else in this section.
When eufy prices actually drop
eufy runs its own deals hub year-round (weekly deals, security deals, seasonal sales), on top of a new-member discount and Amazon's usual voucher mechanics. The genuine floors still cluster at the big UK shopping events.
Dated examples worth anchoring against: a eufy SoloCam dropped from £179 to £99, and an Omni C28 robot vacuum, the same model curated on this page, has been tracked down from £649 to £429. Black Friday 2025 reportedly took around 90% of eufy's range to their lowest price of the year, with cuts up to 45%. If today's price on this page isn't close to that territory, the calendar says wait.
About this page
LightningBrands is an independent, hand-curated deals site. eufy is one of the brands we have chosen to feature; nobody at eufy picks what appears here or pays for placement. We check each featured product's price against Amazon UK's live listing, most recently on 2 August 2026, and remove anything out of stock. Deal links are Amazon Associates affiliate links, disclosed on our Privacy and Terms pages; the commission never changes the price you pay.
