Why every Oral-B discount looks enormous
Oral-B discounts routinely read 50%, 60%, even 70% off. The reason is the anchor, not the generosity: the RRPs are prices the brushes barely ever sell at.
Which? put numbers on it in June 2026. It checked 21 brushes on Oral-B's own online shop across four dates and could not find 10 of them on sale anywhere at the claimed RRP. A limited-edition iO10 carried an £853.99 RRP against a £315 selling price. An iO5 duo pack listed at £450 RRP had sold at £145 to £165 throughout, and had not been at RRP at Boots since August 2025. Oral-B's own response acknowledged the iO5 duo "wasn't being sold at the RRP".

What an Oral-B really sells for
Tech Advisor's iO buying guide tracks typical street prices per model, and they are the only numbers worth judging a deal against: iO2 around £45, iO3 £50 to £70, iO5 £95 to £120, iO9 £195 to £200 per handle.
Applying that to this page on 2 August 2026: the iO3 above sits inside its normal street range, the iO2 under £40 sits below its, and the iO9 duo works out at £157.50 per handle against a £195 to £200 street price per single handle, which is the twin-pack effect doing its quiet work. None of those judgements needed the £800 RRP.
The model range, decoded in two minutes
Oral-B sells two families. The iO series uses a brushless magnetic drive, quieter and smoother than the older Pro series' oscillating action, and the number after "iO" is a feature ladder, not a cleaning ladder.
The iO2 has 3 intensity levels and a basic gum pressure sensor. The iO3 keeps 3 modes and upgrades the sensor to the visible light ring. The iO5 adds coaching through the app and light-up mode icons. From the iO6 up you are buying screens: monochrome first, then the colour display and 3D teeth-tracking on the iO9 and iO10. Per Tech Advisor's comparison, cleaning hardware is near-identical from the middle of the range up.
The Pro series has its own suffix trap: the Pro 3 3000 and Pro 3 3500 are the same brush, and the 3500 just adds a travel case. It is regularly the same price or cheaper than the 3000, so check both listings before paying for either.
Brush heads are the razor blades
The handle is half the cost of ownership. Heads need replacing every 3 months or when the bristles fray, and the pricing spread is wide enough to outweigh a sticker discount.
Genuine iO Ultimate Clean heads cost about £7.12 each bought as a pair, and substantially less per head in bigger multipacks, which is the honest way to cut the running cost. Compatible third-party heads sell for £2.75 to £3.50, and Tech Advisor's hands-on test explains the catch: noisier, one brand jammed the pressure sensor on red, and rougher bristles. Budget for genuine multipacks and the running cost stops being a trap.
When Oral-B prices actually drop
Oral-B is discounted somewhere almost every week of the year, which is exactly why the calendar matters: the genuine lows cluster in two windows.
Black Friday 2025 set the recent floor: the iO2 at £34.99, the iO3 at £49.99 and the iO5 at £79.99, reported at the time as lowest-ever prices per CamelCamelCamel's tracking. Prime Day 2025 had the iO3 at £59.99 and the iO5 twin pack at £119.99. If today's price is near those marks, it is a real deal by any measure.
Oral-B's own site is worth knowing about too: its deals page runs up to 64% off brushes and 55% off heads with a £10 newsletter sign-up code, and an outlet section clears end-of-line stock. Buying direct also carries an automatic 3-year warranty and a 30-day money-back guarantee, which changes the maths on a close price.
The warranty: 2 years standard, 3 if you register
Part of an Oral-B deal's value is free and widely missed. The standard UK warranty is 2 years. Register the brush with Oral-B within 2 years of purchase and a third year is added at no cost.
Keep the receipt, since a claim needs it alongside the registration confirmation. The warranty covers defective components, not wear and tear, water damage or accessories like travel cases. Buying direct from Oral-B skips the registration step entirely with 3 years automatic.
